Superintendent's Message
Superintendent's Message
Dear Members of the Black Hawk School District Communities:
It is with great excitement that I introduce myself as the new Superintendent of the Black Hawk School District. I am honored to join a school district with a strong tradition of excellence in the classroom, athletic fields, and the many extracurricular opportunities provided to our students.
As I begin this new chapter, I would like to share a little about myself and the experiences that have shaped both my life and my leadership.
Most recently, I had the privilege of serving as Superintendent of the Lomira School District. During my time there, I worked closely with our Board of Education, staff, families, and community members to provide excellent educational opportunities while maintaining a strong focus on fiscal responsibility, student achievement, and community partnerships.
Before becoming a superintendent, I spent many years as an elementary educator in Fond du Lac and Lomira. Those years in the classroom reinforced my belief that every child has unique gifts and potential. They also taught me that strong relationships between schools, families, and communities are the foundation of student success.
I was raised on a dairy farm as one of thirteen children. Growing up in a large family taught me the values of hard work, responsibility, and working together to get the job done. On the farm, everyone had an important role to play. Unfortunately for me, being number eleven of thirteen, my role was often running to get things for my older siblings. That being stated , those life experiences continue to guide my leadership today. I believe the same spirit of teamwork and shared purpose is what makes rural communities and their schools so special.
I firmly believe that our schools are the heart of our community. By working together—with mutual trust, open communication, and a shared vision—we can provide an educational experience that prepares every student for success in college, careers, military service, and life.
Together, we need to honor the traditions of the Black Hawk School District while embracing the opportunities that lie ahead.
With gratitude and enthusiasm,
Bob Lloyd
