Principal's Message

Greetings to our Black Hawk community! It is with great pride and enthusiasm that I welcome you to BH Schools, as your principal. With 12 years serving as principal and nearly three decades dedicated to education, I am honored to continue supporting our students, staff, and families in achieving excellence.

My journey in education began in 1996 in Orangeville, IL, where I started my career as a teacher and coach at Orangeville Sr./Jr. High School. After four rewarding years teaching middle school science at Darlington Elementary/Middle School, I found my way to Black Hawk in 2001 as a high school science teacher and coach. This community holds a special place in my heart, as both my wife, Tonya, and I are proud alumni of Black Hawk High School, graduating in 1990. Our commitment to this district runs deep; all four of our children—Brody, Cayden, Lucas, and Mya—have had the privilege of attending Black Hawk Schools.

As we embark on another exciting school year, I invite you to join us in celebrating our achievements, embracing our challenges, and continuing to build upon the strong foundation of excellence that defines Black Hawk School District.
