Superintendent’s Message

Welcome to the Black Hawk School District. Our Board of Education, administration and staff take great pride in our efforts to develop the skills and self-efficacy of our students. Every day our ambitious and highly qualified staff center their energy on inspiring students to become their best selves. Our staff engage in developing their own skills in order to better serve the student body and community.

Our schools are contained in one building in southwest Wisconsin, which serve approximately 375 students with varying needs. The district offers an array of opportunities for students to engage both in academic and co-curricular activities. We have a low student-teacher ratio which allows our staff to connect with students. The district also engages with other districts, on-line vendors, and colleges to offer additional opportunities for students and staff.

The Black Hawk School District does not stand on its own. We rely on and welcome the support of the community and others to continue our efforts to meet our mission and vision. We realize that there is always room for improvement and look for channels to make positive strides. We recognize that continued support of the Black Hawk community is essential to function and will become ever more important as we move forward.

The last couple of years have presented unprecedented challenges due to the pandemic. We appreciate the patience and the cooperation of the community in navigating each challenge that arose. I am hopeful that we will not have to address a prolonged situation such as the pandemic again. I am aware that the district and community will continue to confront challenges, but the resolve demonstrated through the pandemic assures me that the district can persevere through upcoming challenges.
